About Douglas J Aveda Institute Knoxville

There are many beauty schools in Tennessee, but the Douglas J Aveda Institute is a Tennessee beauty school that stands apart! The Knoxville beauty school is the newest Douglas J Aveda Institute, and the only Douglas J cosmetology school in Tennessee.  Located on historic Gay Street, the Institute makes its home in the old S + W Grand Building. Yep, out of all the beauty schools in Tennessee, we are the only one in a revamped cafeteria! Once a restaurant, this building has been remodelled to facilitate classes in Cosmetology and Esthiology (the art of skin care) but through careful historic preservation, still keeps its original charm and splendour. Along with teaching, Douglas J offers a wide range of salon and spa services, utilizing high-end Aveda products and systems at competitive prices. The Douglas J family anticipates an exciting future ahead in Tennessee and welcomes everyone to experience all that we offer, from providing the best cosmetology education possible to affordable, high-end salon services!
