One entry per category. Artists entering multiple categories must submit a unique image for each category.

Eligibility
Licensed Professionals
Licensed cosmetologists and barbers may enter:
- Best Cut
- Best Color
- Or both categories
Maximum of one entry per category.
Students
Currently enrolled cosmetology and barber students may enter:
- Student Artist (Rising Star)
Maximum of one entry.
Image Requirements
To ensure fair judging, all submissions must meet the following requirements:
- One image per entry
- Single-image Instagram post only
- Carousel posts will not be considered
- Unique image required for each category entered
- Images must be photographed using a smartphone or non-professional camera setup
- Professional photography is not permitted
- Heavy retouching, filters, AI enhancement, or excessive editing are prohibited
- Minor brightness, contrast, and crop adjustments are acceptable
- Images should authentically represent the finished work
Participants must maintain a public Instagram account and keep their competition image publicly visible through September 27, 2026.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated by a panel of respected beauty industry professionals based on:
- Technical Execution
- Creativity & Originality
- Overall Finish & Presentation
- Suitability to Model
Judging will focus primarily on the quality of the hair work and finished result.
Terms & Conditions
By entering, participants confirm:
- They created the submitted work
- They have permission from the model to submit the image
- Submitted images may be used by Douglas J Distribution and Collective Beauty Brands for promotional, educational, event, and marketing purposes related to the competition and future events
Entries may be disqualified for:
- AI-generated imagery
- Excessive editing or filters
- Professional photography
- Inappropriate content
- Missing required tags or hashtags
- Failure to follow submission guidelines
- Duplicate submissions across categories
- False representation of ownership
Douglas J Distribution and Collective Beauty Brands reserve the right to modify timelines, judging panels, or competition elements as necessary.
